Garrett Richards‘ Slider – Despite walking five batters, Richards allowed just one unearned run en route to the Win in Anaheim over the Royals. His Slider was looking as good as ever, especially as he fanned Alcides Escobar in the third.
Andrew Triggs’ Fastball – It was the major league debut for the Oakland reliever, and Triggs earned his first strikeout of his career freezing Tyler Collins with this sweet Two-Seam Fastball. (Thanks to @jfmclooney for the tip!)
Taijuan Walker‘s Splitter – Walker tied a career high by striking out 11 Astros last night as his heater was blowing by batters frequently. The lively Fastball perfectly set up his Splitter, especially when it has excellent drop like this one to George Springer.
Dellin Betances’ Curveball – It feels like cheating featuring another Betances hook, but just look at how badly Brett Nicholas read this pitch. The idea that he actually thought the pitch was going to be a strike he could hit is tough to fathom. (Thanks to Redditor XlPoLaR04 for the tip!)
Marcus Stroman‘s Fastball – While the strikeouts haven’t arrived in droves for Stroman, his Fastball is still moving all over the place. Here he stuns Brett Lawrie with a heater that has so much ride that Lawrie yells at the umpire despite actually nipping the outside corner. (Thanks to Redditor Flerpinator for the tip!)
