Saturday is here and we have a small 8 game main slate starting with Mets hosting the Cubs at 7:05 ET. Some rain is expected for a few games but a delay is no expected at this point. Still, keep an eye out on the weather.

Top SP: Zack Greinke, ARI ($20,600) vs MIA

Zack Greinke is a quiet ace. He has gone at least 6 innings in 8 of his last 9 starts. The only one that not was 5.2 IP with 1 ER. In 2018, Greinke carries a 3.65 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP in 66 Innings. These numbers don’t scream domination but, whats impressive is his consistency. He rarely gets shelled almost always delivers a solid performance. Marlins have hit Greinke well in the past but they are definitely not an offense to be afraid of.

Honorable Mention: Jacob Degromm, NYM ($22,200) vs CHC

Value SP: Garrett Richards, LAA ($13,700) VS TEX

Richards started the year strong and then ran into trouble in the last 2 starts. He only lasted 2.2 innings his last start. I think it’s a little harsh to see such a large reduction in his salary since he only allowed 3 ER in those last 2 starts. The problem with Richards is that he struggles to go deep into games. I expect Richards to bounce back and have success against a strikeout-prone Texas team.

Honorable Mention: Matt Harvey, CIN ($10,800) @ SD

IF: Andrelton Simmons, LAA ($8,400) VS TEX

This might be surprising but hear me out. Simmons is hitting .335 with 4 home runs, 65 combined runs + RBIs and 5 Stolen Bases. Plus, he is striking out in less than 5% of his at-bats. The home runs are missing but he has shown some pop by hitting 12 doubles. As long as Simmons maintains his elite strikeout rate, the hits will keep coming. He will take his 10 game hitting streak to Texas today.

Honorable Mention: Josh Donaldson, TOR ($8,200) VS OAK

Top OF: Justin Upton, LAA ($8,100) vs TEX

I thought I wasn’t supposed to talk about today’s stack till later. As you can see, I love me some Angels today. Upton is a 15-51 in his career against Cole Hamels. This included 2 home runs and 5 Doubles. Upton has been in a bit of a funk – He is only hitting .238 but still has 11 Home runs. I believe the Angels have a good offense around Upton to help him get back on track.

Honorable Mention: Yasiel Puig, LAD ($9,300) @ COL

Value IF/OF: Franmil Reyes, SD ($6,700) VS CIN

This is what I had to say about Reyes on May 30th before he went out and hit another home run that night:

“Reyes has played in 12 games and looks to be overmatched against MLB pitching. 38.5 K%is proof of that. Strikeouts will come down but will still remain a problem but the power is there and he is finally starting to get a feel of the big leagues. His raw power was rated as 70/70 and the 3 home runs in the last 6 games are promising. We don’t care if he strikes out or grounds out since FantasyDraft doesn’t deduct points for striking out. As long as he is hitting home runs, Reyes will be useful.”

Not much has changed since. He has power and he strikes out. Let’s hope he hits a home run tonight.

Honorable Mention: Tim Anderson, CWS ($5,700) vs TEX

Stack: Angels vs Rangers (RHP Cole Hamels)

Just like yesterday, I am stacking up on the Angels against Cole Hamels tonight. The Angels are one of my favorite teams to do a stack with since they have some very good hitters in the top half of their lineups but, it is also very easy to find value bats in the bottom half of their lineup. I already recommended a couple of those players earlier, here are some others to consider:

Shohei Ohtani ($7,500)

Zack Cozart ($6,600)

Albert Pujols ($6,800)

Luis Valbuena ($6,300)

You might want to give this Mike Trout guy a shot if you have some spare change.

Honorable Mention: Dbacks vs Marlins (LHP Caleb Smith)
