Dallas Keuchel’s Slider – Despite pitching on only three days’ rest, Keuchel got the job done in the Bronx and silenced the Yankee bats. He was locating on the edges all night, and expanded well with his Slider, like this beautiful pitch off the plate to Brett Gardner for the strikeout.

Masahiro Tanaka’s Splitter – He wasn’t at his sharpest in the playoff game, but he still held the Astros to just two runs in five innings. His best pitch came on an 0-1 count to Jose Altuve as he dropped a nasty Splitter down-and-in.

Andrew Miller’s Slider – It was a brief appearance for Miller, and he ended his frame with a Slider that tripped up Marwin Gonzalez.

Luke Gregerson’s Slider – Gregerson shut the door on the Yankees’ hopes, and earned his second out of the ninth with a Slider that featured some nice late movement to fan Alex Rodriguez.

Dellin Betances‘ Curveball – This behind-the-back shot of Betances’ Curveball was a great look at how much horizontal bend Betances’ breaking ball gets as it starts at Chris Carter’s shoulder before curving in for a strike.
