Cliff Pennington’s Fastball – Yesterday was a blowout in favor of the Royals in Toronto, giving Pennington the opportunity to be the first position player to pitch in a postseason game. He impressed his teammates as he came out of the gates with this 91 MPH Fastball that featured movement back to the plate.

Jacob deGrom’s Curveball – deGrom got the job done for the Mets, as they took a commanding 3-0 lead in the NLCS. He worked in his secondary pitches well through the night, including this deuce to Miguel Montero for the K.

Jacob deGrom’s Fastball – Yes, Kris Bryant swung out of the zone chasing this 96 MPH Fastball. What makes this pitch so tasty to watch is how well deGrom played it off the previous offerings. Notice the two previous pitches just inside the zone, and with a 1-2 count, deGrom elected to stretch the zone just a little further to see if Bryant would chase. Perfectly executed.

Kyle Hendricks‘ Changeup – Before you start thinking this is a Slider, Brooks Baseball defined it as a Changeup, while the broadcast booth detailed how Hendricks throws three kinds of Changeups. This one features surprising Cut action as it darts away from David Wright, despite normal slow pitches featuring horizontal ride moving arm side.

Kyle Hendricks‘ Sinker – While Daniel Murphy somehow continued his HR streak in the postseason, his first at-bat didn’t end so well as Hendricks snuck this Sinker under his hands for the strikeout.
