Chris Sale’s Slider – Sale made it to 300 strikeouts on the season as he faced the Orioles on Wednesday, with plenty of focus on that strikeout pitch. However, our favorite offering from Sale was this Slider to Trey Mancini that simply isn’t fair. You can’t lay off it as it travels through the entire zone, but you definitely can’t hit it either.
Josh Hader’s Curveball – Hader has been turning plenty of heads during his time in the Brewers bullpen and ended a long at-bat yesterday with a front-door Curveball that had no reason to find the inside corner. I have a feeling we’re going to be enjoying plenty of Hader GIFs during his career.
Bartolo Colon’s Fastball – Colon has made a career with his Two-Seam Fastball and he went to work with the pitch during his afternoon in the Bronx. He loves stunning left-handers with the pitch along the inside corner, and did just that to Brett Gardner as this Fastball started at the Yankee outfielder before whizzing back to nip the plate.
Luis Severino’s Slider – Wednesday wasn’t Severino’s sharpest outing of the season, but he still executed plenty of pretty pitches. Take this Slider to Byron Buxton for example, bending out of the zone at a marvelous 91mph for the swing-and-a-miss.
Ricky Nolasco’s Curveball – Nolasco isn’t a pitcher that will often amaze an audience, but we loved his first strikeout against the Indians. Watch this Curveball fall from the sky as Francisco Lindor struggled to make contact.
