Charlie Morton’s Curveball – Morton didn’t pitch nearly as bad as the box score will tell you and looked well in control out of the gate. This Curveball to Chase Headley tells it all, getting vicious bite on his deuce forcing Headley to take a hack despite nearly hitting his backfoot.

Charlie Morton’s At-Bat – We love featuring beautiful pitching sequences during these roundups and Morton’s debilitation of Aaron Judge was simply perfect in the first inning. First he dotted the low and outside corner with a pair of riding Fastballs at 97 and 99mph, each starting well out of the zone before zooming back to the plate. Now looking like a third straight Fastball, Morton’s Slider falls the opposite direction, now landing out of reach of Judge’s bat for the well-deserved strikeout. Perfect.

Tommy Kahnle’s Changeup – Kahnle was called upon to clean up the final frame and he got his first out with a gorgeous Changeup to George SpringerCheck out its excellent movement back to the outside corner at 92mph to sneak past the slugger’s bat.

Collin McHugh’s Curveball – While Todd Frazier had no business swinging at this pitch, the amount of depth McHugh gets on this Curveball makes this a tougher pitch to lay off than it has any right to be. It’s a filthy hook and one that has been a staple of McHugh’s career.

CC Sabathia’s Slider – The veteran was dominant against the Astros, throwing six shutout frames and preserving the massive Yankee lead. His Slider has been the pitch he’s leaned on to get strikes and earned a big whiff from MVP candidate Jose Altuve in the opening frame.
