Off the List: None

Any way you slice it, Mookie Betts is having a disappointing season offensively thus far. In terms of batting average, his .279 BABIP suggests there should be some positive regression coming. He is far too talented of a hitter to remain in the .260s for long.

Deep League Top 10 (>12-team leagues/65% owned or less)

Off the List: Melky Cabrera

Batting average is very difficult to find on the wire. Avisail Garcia is enjoying a nice little year offensively so far. He has pretty much stuffed the stat sheet with an AVG over .300, 11 HRs, and 6 SBs.

Off the List: Paul DeJong

It is unclear right now how much time Mitch Haniger will be missing, so he is still hanging onto that 25th spot for now. But a ruptured testicle? I would probably retire.

Nick Markakis continues to be an overall solid offensive player, even this late in his career. He has been a key cog in the middle of the Braves lineup the past two years and should still be useful in deeper leagues.

Off the List: Kris Bryant

Mike Moustakas has an otherworldly .320 ISO right now and is crushing the baseball. He is also carrying a 25% HR/FB rate and is reaping all the benefits of hitting in the Milwaukee lineup and ballpark.

Off the List: Jay Bruce (ownership)

How Daniel Vogelbach is still only a little over 50% owned is surprising. The guy has loads of power and is a huge asset in OBP leagues. He’s getting on base at nearly a 40% clip right now.

We are halfway into June and Eduardo Escobar is third in the majors in RBI. Exactly how we drew it up. All jokes aside, Escobar has been on another level the past two months or so slugging .654 since April 16th.

10 Brandon Lowe TB 2B/3B

Off the List: Jay Bruce (ownership)

Renato Nunez won’t provide much in the way of AVG or OBP, but he seems to have a decent nose for producing runs with some pop. He should stick in the middle of the meager Orioles’ lineup.

Christian Yelich is well on his way to setting a new career high in SBs. He currently leads the NL in swipes, and pretty much everything else, and is turning into one of the most well-rounded players in the game.

Not much to be said here. If you need speed, it is probably best that you seek out a trade for the guys on the top 25 list.

25 Luke Voit NYY 1B Unranked

Off the List: Paul DeJong, Joey Votto

Not a ton of change here. Luke Voit is having an excellent second year in pinstripes. He has been an integral part of the Yankees success so far and has shown an excellent ability to get on base.

Deep League Top 10 (>12-team leagues/65% owned or less)

Rank Name Team Position Change

9 Kolten Wong STL 2B -4
10 Miguel Cabrera DET 1B

Justin Smoak is hitting under .230, so the fact that he is posting a nearly .370 OBP is pretty remarkable. He will give you some decent power but in OBP leagues he is very much worth starting.

Ryan Yarbrough is back in the “rotation” for the Rays. Three of his four outings since being recalled have been excellent and despite having an ugly ERA at the moment, his 1.09 WHIP suggests he has been a tad unlucky.

Mike Minor has been sensational. His SwStr% is higher than it was when he rejuvenated his career in the Kansas City bullpen a couple years ago. If he gets traded to a contender, he could be a league winner for fantasy owners.

I enjoy your lists but I have one question. Why is Walker Buehler so low or missing entirely on most of these list week after week? Are you not impressed with his performance or believe he gets an inning cap?
    Thanks
