Reviewing Last Week

Tucker Barnhart (Cincinnati Reds) — 4/17, 2 R, 1 RBI

This is definitely a disappointment. You take the counting stats, but the lack of HRs or average is disappointing.

Mike Zunino (Seattle Mariners) — 2/13, 1 HR

This is who Zunino is. I hoped for an additional homer. This definitely hurts.

Nick Hundley (San Francisco Giants) — 5/16, 1 R

No counting stats, but a .313 average is awesome.

Looking Forward

Before we get to this week’s streamers, a few notes:

• Yadi Molina is expected back for this upcoming series after sitting out the whole weekend. He may miss the first game or so, but he should play at least most of your semi-final week. Hamstrings are tricky though, so there’s little way to know for sure. Carson Kelly should get a few starts in his stead.
• Elias Diaz is most likely out for the season, which means Francisco Cervelli will have uncontested starts down the stretch. He’s played 8 out of the last 11.

Without further ado, let’s check out this week’s streamers:

Jonathan Lucroy (Oakland Athletics) — Today, I do something I swore I’d never do. I’ve been a massive Lucroy hater for years now and I stand by it…. but when you’re playing on a red hot offense (seven runs in 8 of the last 9) and you get 3 games against Andrew Cashner and Dylan Bundy with a third tribute from Baltimore yet unannounced, then 3 against Rays pitchers not named Blake Snell, how could you not let him loose? He’s got one DAN on Sunday, but that leaves 5 starts this week that could be all his especially because he’s sitting today.

Francisco Cervelli (Pittsburgh Pirates) — As stated above, he’s likely to get virtually every start while Diaz is out. Cervelli draws the DLH Adam Wainwright, plus Adam Gomber and Miles Mikolas, who got lit up in his last start. After that, the Pirates draw Zach Davies and two lefties in Gio Gonzalez and Wade Miley. Cervelli hits righties far better than lefties (133 to 109 wRC+) and still gets three of them- expect one sit from Cervelli this week, meaning a whopping 5 starts.

Yan Gomes (Cleveland Indians) — Yan Solo has been up and down all year for owners who desperately crave stability at the position. He’s hitting well over the last month, however, and he gets 3 lefties this week- he hits .289/.367/.505 against lefties on the year. That’s a guy you want to own in your semi-finals.
