Carlos Carrasco’s Curveball – Chance Sisco?  Rather ironic since there was no chance he was going to hit this pitch.  This perfect Carrasco curveball seemed to float over the zone before diving down an in on a helpless Sisco.

Justin Anderson’s Slider – Anderson made his big league debut in a 2 run game against the defending World Series champs and he did not disappoint.  He threw 99 MPH heat and huge frisbee sliders like this strike 2 pitch on a flailing George Springer.

Cody Allen’s Curveball – If you freeze this GIF about half way through, it looks like the perfect meatball pitch.  But Allen’s big curve dives from waist to toes – right as it crosses the plate.

Chris Beck’s Changeup – Ben Gamel made a pretty feeble attempt at this one. Beck’s nasty changeup starts in at the waist before free-falling away on the outside corner

Kevin Gausman’s Splitter – Jason Kipnis had a rough game, thanks in large part to completely unfair pitches like Gasuman’s splitter.  Gausman only allowed 4 hits and the 24% whiff rate on his splitter was a big reason for that.

Peter Moylan’s Slider – Billy Hamilton looked like Gumby swinging at this one.  Okay, he looks like Gumby anyway but the huge movement on this nasty slider also made him look completely lost.

Jake Odorizzi’s Curveball – Odorizzi didn’t have a great night against the Yankees but this big 12-6 curve against Gary Sanchez was a thing of beauty.
