Every morning, we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious high-definition GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the First Quarter Contest. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @PitcherList, and we’ll GIF it up and give you a shoutout here in the article.

Blake Snell’s Curveball

“What hot start for Abreu?” says Snell as he threw this doozy of a pitch to Jose Abreu. The phrased “fell off a table” is an overused descriptor for pitches, but I can’t sum this one up any more aptly.

Anibal Sanchez’s Changeup

Is that Rhys Hoskins or Don Reese? Anibal Sanchez blurs the line here.

Seranthony Dominguez’s Fastball

Phillies got their revenge with this pitch. This kind of movement with this kind of velocity is absolutely Alvaradonian. Dominguez is young and only going to get better, and we can expect to see plenty more of him this year.

Miles Mikolas‘ Slider

It’s been a rough start to Mikolas’ second season back stateside, but this devastating slider to cross up Corey Seager made everyone forget about that for a moment. As long as Mikolas can keep his slider working like it was tonight, he should be able to bounce back.

Mychal Givens‘ Fastball

The ace of the less than stellar Orioles bullpen, Givens looked the part of the stud closer the Orioles hope he can be in this at bat against Matt Chapman, particularly on this final pitch. Chapman had some choice words for himself after this one, and watching the movement on the pitch elicited a similar reaction from myself.

Jordan Hicks‘ Slider

Another outing, another entry on the Nastiest Pitch roundup. Jordan Hicks unfair repertoire was once again on display today, this time against the Dodgers. Over/Under 50.5 more Nasty Pitch appearances for Hicks this year.

Jimmy Yacabonis‘ Fastball

Two Orioles in one day? 1983 called, Tippy Martinez and Don Morogiello ended up here somehow. Josh Phegley was as mystified by this offering as we are, and who can blame him? Pitches aren’t supposed to break twice.

W/O velo #’s, I think I’m going to go with Sanchez’s change today.
