Every morning we review the five best pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the “GIF of the Week”. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Bartolo Colon’s Fastball – After struggling in his previous pair of starts, Colon pitched a gem against the Cubs, silencing Chicago across seven innings. He struck out Kris Bryant twice, including this K with a Fastball that never stops riding inside.

James Shields‘ Changeup – Shields feasted on the Mariners offense, collecting seven strikeouts during the afternoon. This Changeup caught our eye as it falls off the table to get a major whiff from Mike Zunino.

Carlos Carrasco’s Fastball – He came one strike away from a no-hitter, and made some excellent pitches en route to the win. His Fastball featured effective movement all day, and has just enough sink to avoid bat to end the inning.

A.J. Burnett’s Knuckle-Curve – Burnett faced a tough opponent yesterday, but was effective getting through seven innings vs. the Tigers. Nick Castellanos was one of Burnett’s four victims across the outing, swinging through this nasty Knuckle-Curve.

Johnny Cueto’s Changeup – It may have been his finally home start at Grand American Ballpark, and Cueto made it count. He struck out Kurt Suzuki on this gorgeous Changeup that disappeared as it dove into the dirt.
