Every morning we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the Second Half Contest. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Andrew Cashner’s Fastball – Cashner has beaten his peripherals this season, sporting a low 3.30 ERA that is nearly two points lower than his 5.21 xFIP. He gets through innings with a hard Sinker that surprises batters, just it did Derek Fisher along the inside corner as this pitch looked destined for a ball.

Jose Berrios’ Curveballs – Berrios has been on fire lately, accumulating 27 strikeouts across his last three starts. The pitch we all enjoy watching to no end is his Curveball, which was all kinds of filthy. Here are two of his best from yesterday, both coming against poor victim Matt Davidson as he weakly flailed at each pitch as they dove well out of the zone. (Thanks to  for the tip!)

Rafael Montero’s Fastball – It’s been a great four start stretch for Montero, boasting an ERA just above 2.00 and holding a near 9.00 K/9. His poorest iduced swing may have been with this Fastball to Scooter Gennett that entered no-man’s land as it shot high-and-tight in a hurry. I would have tossed my bat down in a fury as well.

Stephen Strasburg’s Changeup – Strasburg earned himself a complete game shutout against the Marlins as he continues to have a monstrous second half and overall 2017 season. His Changeup has always been one of our favorites in the majors, and he showcased its elite tumbling action against future Hall-Of-Famer Ichiro Suzuki in the eighth.

Miguel Castro’s Fastball – The Orioles have some of the most dominant relievers in the bigs, with Castro not getting enough love with his Fastball that moves a ton. Check out the insane lateral movement he got with his heater against Guillermo Heredia in the sixth. (Thanks to  for the tip!)

Joe Kelly’s Curveball – Kelly has found his role in the Red Sox pen and was dominant against the Blue Jays on Wednesday night. He buckled Jose Bautista with this sweet Curveball, earning him a well deserved backwards K.

For a great player, Bautista is made to look silly on a lot of curves.
