Congrats to Corey Kluber’s Curveball for winning GIF of the Week! It had some stiff competition, but ended up edging Clayton Kershaw’s hook by five points.

Aaron Nola’s Fastball – He had the duty of dueling against Stephen Strasburg and held his own throwing five innings of shutout ball. Nola collected five Ks through the game, including this one to Ian Desmond with a Fastball featuring wicked movement.

Rich Hill’s Curveball – Another Hill start, another double digit strikeout performance as he went the distance to shutout the Orioles. He stunned Caleb Joseph with this back-door bender that I could watch for hours.

Noah Syndergaard’s Fastball – Thor was straight up dealing on Friday night against the Reds, and painted a 99 MPH on the inside corner to punch out Jay Bruce. It’s hard not to love the puff of dust from Travis d’Arnaud’s glove at the pitch nails the spot.

Francisco Liriano’s Slider – It was classic Liriano against the Cubs on Saturday, and he planted this perfect front-door Slider to Anthony Rizzo to collect one of his nine strikeouts for the afternoon.

Jake Arrieta’s Curveball – Arrieta once again hinted at perfection Sunday night, but had to settle for a 1-hitter through seven innings. He fanned nine Pirates such as former MVP Andrew McCutchen with a nasty 83 MPH Curveball.

Matt Harvey’s Slider – The camera angle doesn’t do this pitch justice as Harvey pinpoints a Slider under the hands of Joey Votto to get the whiff. The pitch started right along the inside corner before diving into Votto’s knees, and the batting-title candidate couldn’t hold his swing.

Jaime Garcia’s Changeup – Sometimes the more subtle pitches are the prettiest. Here Garcia’s Changeup starts perfectly right on the outside corner before elegantly falling away from Khris Davisbat for the well deserved strikeout.
