Today is an exciting day as we have officially unveiled the 2017 update to the Pitching GIF Database! All expected starting pitchers have been to team pages with new GIFs and summaries of each individual pitch for each pitcher. For example, we cover all starters from Noah Syndergaard to Matt Andriese and we’re aiming to have relievers added to the mix before Opening Day.
If you enjoy our new database please consider helping us grow on Patreon as we’re trying to expand our GIF database and add extra features such as a better GIF archive through the season and extending out GIF library to every relief pitcher and minor league players. To celebrate today’s launch, we’re hosting a scavenger hunt to get you acclimated to the 260+ pitchers we’ve updated on the site. The first person to leave an unedited comment on this post that correctly labels all 20 items will receive a Pitcher List shirt when we roll out our Merch later this year. Here is what you have to find:
- A pitcher pitching to another pitcher
- A pitch that didn’t end in a strike
- Two different batters losing their helmet as they swing
- A pitcher pitching against their current team
- The “Three’s a crowd” group: Mike Napoli striking out three times
- Jose Bautista striking out three times
- Charlie Blackmon striking out three times
- A batter losing control of his bat
- Wellington Castillo falling down
- A pitch that Nick claimed he “couldn’t stop watching”
- A sub 70mph Curveball striking out a batter
- Edwin Encarnacion bending out of the way of a pitch that landed for a strike on the outside corner
- A man obnoxiously waving at the camera behind home plate
- A pair of kids acting like “wacky-waving-inflatable-arm-flailing-tube-men”
- A pitcher throwing against the same batter in the two separate games
- A catcher popping up to throw to second after the pitch
- Salvador Perez nodding in approval after striking out
- Javier Baez “swinging through” a 100mph Fastball
- A pitcher with all four pitches being played on Mother’s Day
- Robinson Cano striking out with “Robinson Cano Bobblehead night” in the background

I am so confused as how to post or find the answers to this… Am I supposed to link to the gif? I mean I Found a kershaw throwing a strike to napoli, but it’s the one pitch…does that mean there is one gif of him swinging at 3 or am I supposed to provide 3 gives of him swinging at strikes..

When you find the appropriate GIF, simply list off the pitch here. For example, Clayton Kerhsaw’s Slider would suffice if you wanted to quote that specific GIF.
For the Napoli one, there are at least three different GIFs of him striking out across the database. Just cite each pitcher and which pitch features the Napoli K.
