Zack Godley’s Curveball – Andrew McCutchen really didn’t have a chance here.  In fact, Godley racked up 6 Ks from his curve and generated a ton of swing and miss.  This pitch looks like a strike then the bottom drops out and you are walking back to the dugout.

Dylan Bundy’s Slider – The bottom drops out of this beautiful slider at the last second – right under Donaldson’s bat.  This was no making contact with this dive bomb.

Corey Kluber’s Fastball – Movement aside, the location of this pitch was absolutely perfect. But LOOK at that movement!  Kluber’s two seamer starts far outside the zone and breaks to the plate before McCann could decide to swing.  Snooze you lose.  Kluber was nearly untouchable all and racked up 13 Ks during his scoreless outing.

Noah Syndergaard’s Slider – You have to commit earlier than Castro here and even if you do, you aren’t going to make contact with this slider that breaks hard down and away.  It’s pure filth and purely unhittable.

Justin Verlander’s Curveball – Another great dive bombing curve racks up Miguel Sano.  A free swinging guy like Sano is no match for the movement here.  Verlander stymied the Twins with 9 Ks and no runs through 7 innings.

Sergio Romo’s Slider – Romo was deadly to White Sox hitters.  He generated 5 whiffs on 14 sliders for a 35.7% whiff rate.  It’s no wonder when you see that silly horizontal and vertical movement here.

Junichi Tazawa’s Splitter – I mean, the  drop on this pitch is just untouchable.  Tazawa expertly places this at the corner of the plate so when that vertical movement sets in you aren’t catching up with this one.

Chris Archer’s Slider – Archer’s slider has sick vertical movement and fades enough away from Tim Anderson to miss his bat on two levels.

No love for Happ? He got himself into some sticky situations but that high fastball was untouchable.

Romo’s slider has always been one of my favorite pitches to see. So pretty.

hate to be a stickler but kluber didn’t finish the game. Miller pitched the 9th and got the save
