Trevor Bauer’s Slider – Bauer’s slider has been nearly unhittable this season, with opponents hitting .081 and posting a 40.9% o-swing rate. This pitch was placed perfectly.

David Robertson’s Curveball – Robertson’s curveball has been deceiving opponents for over a decade now, and 2018 has been no different. Although his 16.1% swinging strike rate is down from years past, you wouldn’t be able to tell from this pitch to Yonder Alonso, who swung way over the top.

Adam Ottavino’s Slider – Brandon Nimmo was completely frozen by this nasty bender from Ottavino that just forced its way onto the outside corner. Woof.

Zack Greinke’s Changeup – Greinke struck out five in 5 2/3 innings of work on Saturday. He pulled out the eephus, but it was his nasty 87 mile per hour changeup to Brian McCann that landed him on our list for today.

Carl Edwards’ Curveball – Carl Edwards jr. brought his yo-yo on Saturday, fanning Paul DeJong with this nasty breaking ball in the dirt. Edwards has generated a 13.7% swinging strike rate on the curveball so far this season.

Edwin Diaz’s Fastball – 98 mile per hour cheese gets up on your quick. When it starts out off the plate and runs just back onto the outside corner, well there’s a reason his fastball has a 5.1 pVAL on the year.
