Trevor Bauer
Cleveland Indians

50.8% Thrown  93.2 MPH

Bauer splits his heaters between Four-Seamers and Two-Seamers, though there is little incentive not to feature the riding heater more often as it produces plenty more grounders and he can pinpoint it for a strike much more often. Additionally, batters held a whopping .945 OPS against his straight Fastball in 2016.

19.5% Thrown  76.9 MPH

Bauer bumped up his Curveball usage in 2016, changing his approach with the pitch and using it more than just a strikeout option. The results were consistent with his previous year's 331 pitches, but across a nearly double sample of 581 pitches - .090 allowed ISO, and a minimal .132 BAA. Look for Bauer to keep trusting the pitch a ton in 2017.

12.5% Thrown  86.4 MPH

Bauer was able to command his Changeup much better in 2015, raising its zone rate nearly 10 points to an excellent 54.7% rate, relying on it less as a chase pitch and more as a pitch to trust deeper in counts.

17.3% Thrown  88.8 MPH

Bauer increased his Cutter usage as well in an effort to feature a secondary pitch in the zone constantly and it mostly did its job, inducing 40.0% infield pop-ups and limiting liners to just 23.6% last season.
