Every morning we review the five best pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the Week. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Rich Hill’s Curveball – It’s been an amazing four start run for Hill in 2015 that has come to a close, but he left us with some fantastic hooks to hold us over until next year such as this one to stun Brett Gardner in the second inning. There’s nothing more satisfying as a pitcher than making batters freak out in the box only for the ball to fall in for a strike. (Thanks to Reddit user BarneyStinsbro for the tip!)

Jerad Eickhoff’s Curveball – Exhibit B as like Hill, Eickhoff was also able to flinch a hitter with a deadly Curveball. Watch Eric Campbell’s knees buckle as this beauty glides into the strikezone for the backwards K.

Jeurys Familia’s Sinker – It’s the lone pitch in today’s roundup that isn’t a Curveball, and dear lord was it dirty. This heavy Sinker kept diving…and diving down-and-in to Aaron Altherr at 94 MPH, making us shake our heads wondering how someone could possible hit it.

Stephen Strasburg’s Curveball – The second half has given us vintage Strasburg and he ended on a high note, striking out seven Braves across six shutout innings. He threw some nasty breaking pitches, like this one to Nick Swisher that had him dancing in frustration.

Tyler Duffey’s Curveball – As viewers, we’re often forced into a single perspective when viewing pitches, but last night we were given the chance to get a better look at Duffey’s excellent Curveball. Watch the pitch in realtime from the classic angle first, then enjoy a behind-the-plate look to see just how much horizontal and vertical movement there is on Duffey’s bender.

Jose Fernandez’s Curveball – JoFer has one of the best Curveballs in the game, and showcased it last night as he closed the book on his stunted 2015 season. Here’s to seeing a lot more of the Ace of Miami in 2016.
