Matt Moore
Texas Rangers

60.5% Thrown  92.8 MPH

Moore is all about Four-Seamers and had plenty of success with the pitch in 2016 as held the highest zone rate of his career with the pitch and limited damage done by hitters with a decent .742 OPS allowed. There is room to grow here as Moore often loses batters by way of the walk (12.5% walk rate).

22.1% Thrown  81.3 MPH

Moore loves his Knuckle-Curve throwing it often in all situations. He can spot it for strikes over the plate with confidence (batters held just a .041 ISO against the pitch!) while also turning to it as a strikeout pitch deeper in counts.

12.7% Thrown  84.2 MPH

Moore took a step forward with his Changeup in 2016, increasing its vertical drop while hitting the zone at a career high 48.4% rate. It's a sturdy third option that matches well with his heater.

4.4% Thrown  90.1 MPH

Moore added a Cutter last season as he moved to San Francisco and it has some solid potential - his side-winding delivery allows for extra deception while holding a large horizontal movement differential relative to his Four-Seamer. Look for it to be a tough pitch for right-handers to handle inside while getting the ocassional whiff to left-handers like Charlie Blackmon above.
