Luis Severino’s Slider – Once upon a time this pitch looked like it might end up in the zone, but in the end? Not even close. Severino beautifully bends this big slider and was unbeatable in this dominant start.

Luis Castillo’s Changeup – Castillo’s served up this stellar changeup to Jett Bandy. Briefly it had the appearance of moving in over the plate before crashing and burning below Bandy’s bat.

Aaron Nola’s Curveball – Just plain nasty and unhittable. Nola rang up Dansby Swanson on this curve that moved across the plate and just for good measure – drops to a nice finish.

Jacob deGrom’s Changeup – deGrom dominated with 12 Ks and sadly ended up with a no-decision. This Howie Kendrick K on deGroms bottom dropping changeup is just one example of his amazing outing.

Adam Ottavino’s Slider – This slider doesn’t even look possible but Ottavino is good at bending the laws of physics on pitching like this one which appears to move about 4 feet from one side of the plate to the other.

Luis Severino’s Changeup – Yes, Severino again and I could watch this changeup over and over. It rides nicely in on the hitter and beautifully paints the inside corner.

Martin Perez’s Fastball – Perez places this pitch perfectly right on the upper inside corner. This fastball has some “rise” but stops just short of leaving the strike zone. Masterfully placed.
