Justin Verlander’s Fastball – Verlander looked great against the New York Yankees yesterday, giving up just one run over 6.2 innings pitched. Here, even 104 pitches into the game, Verlander was able to overpower Gleyber Torres with a 97 MPH fastball that sent Torres to his knees.

Jakob Junis‘ SliderJakob Junis has a beautiful slider and I’ll never get tired of watching it. Even though he gave up three runs yesterday, he still had seven strikeouts, and with a pitch like that—it’s not hard to see why.

Tyler Skaggs‘ Curveball – Overall, Skaggs didn’t look great yesterday, posting a stat line that looked like the beginning of a fake phone number, with five earned runs and five strikeouts over five innings, but he did toss this big hook of a curveball that sent Victor Reyes golfing.

Chris Archer’s Slider – Archer blanked the Oakland Athletics over six innings and racked up seven strikeouts. He may mostly be a two-pitch pitcher, but man if those two pitches aren’t beautiful.

Trevor Cahill’s Changeup – K-Hill looked fantastic yesterday, shutting out the Tampa Bay Rays over eight innings pitched with six strikeouts. His changeup has looked sexy all year and he did it again here.

Jacob DeGrom’s Slider – After pitching seven innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts against the Atlanta Braves yesterday, DeGrom now has 29 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched, because he’s amazing. Here, he sends Dansby Swanson spinning after chasing a 92 MPH slider.
