Every morning we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the First Half Contest. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Jon Jay’s Eephus – The best part about blowouts are the opportunities to watch position players get their chance on the hill and Jay gave us what we wanted by getting a huge whiff from Domingo Santana on this 1-1 pitch. Baseball’s fun. (Thanks to , and  for the tip!)

Gio Gonzalez’s Curveball – Sure, this failed effort came at the hands of the opposing pitcher Mike Foltyniewcz, yet we couldn’t help but feature the pitch as it fell from nose to toes for the strikeout. Still a pretty pitch to enjoy as you sip your coffee. (Thanks to Redditors strongscience62 and efitz11 for the tip!)

Michael Wacha’s Fastball – Wacha is more known for his Four-Seamer/Changeup combination with Cutters in the mix, but he whipped out a Two-Seamer to Christain Yelich with a ton of ride that made us do a double-take. Check out how the pitch starts right along the outside edge before sweeping off the plate. A perfectly executed pitch.

Robbie Ray’s Slider – Ray was overpowering last night, collecting most of his thirteen strikeouts with Fastballs blown past Dodger hitters. What makes that heater so great is having a pitch like this Slider in his backpocket, which falls off the table at a moment’s notice.

Jacob Faria’s Changeup – Faria has turned heads during his brief time in the majors thus far, featuring a pair of secondary pitches that will miss plenty of bats. Here’s a great look at this Split-Changeup, with dove out of the zone in a blink of an eye to earn a big swing-and-miss from Mitch Moreland

Jose Berrios’ Curveball – We just couldn’t resist featuring the gorgeous breaking ball that is Berrios’ Curveball, especially as it zoomed its way back to nibble the outside corner. The Minnesota camera angle is a lovely thing.
