Darren O’Day (RP, Baltimore Orioles) – O’Day was unable to throw a bullpen session this week, and Showalter mentioned that additional tests may be required. Look for those results in the coming days, but things may be more serious for O’Day than originally anticipated.

Blake Wood (RP, Los Angeles Angels) – Wood underwent an MRI which showed damage to his right elbow UCL. He is seeking a second opinion, but I’d anticipate Tommy John is in his future.

Khris Davis (OF, Oakland Athletics) – Davis was placed on the DL10 after an MRI revealed a Grade 1 groin strain. If the retroactive DL move is a clue, Davis may return when first eligible or shortly after (not out of the question for a mild Grade 1 strain).

Jerad Eickhoff (SP, Philadelphia Phillies) – Eickhoff experienced some tingling in her index and middle fingers during a recent rehab start. He is visiting a TOS-specialist this week to be examined. TOS is difficult to diagnose, and Eickhoff could be dealing with nerve irritation at many other points along the nerve’s course – nothing is set in stone yet. We’ll see what the specialist says, but Eickhoff could be out quite a lot longer.

Mark Trumbo (DH, Baltimore Orioles) – The Orioles aren’t saying too much about this, but apparently Trumbo is experiencing some soreness in his right knee following a slide during Tuesday’s game. I can’t find record of a previous injury to that right knee, so I’m not overly concerned. I think we expect him to return to the lineup on Thursday until we hear otherwise.

Raisel Iglesias (RP, Cincinnati Reds) – Between this being Iglesias’ left biceps and the retroactive DL move I feel this may be a minimum stay. He may not save your soul tonight, but he should be your bullpen Hero again soon… I hate myself for that one.

Brandon Guyer (OF, Cleveland Indians) – Similar to Iglesias, the retroactive DL move makes me feel we should treat this as a minimum stay until we hear otherwise.

Matt Davidson (3B, Chicago White Sox) – There is currently no indication that Davidson should miss an extended period – he may be set to go tomorrow. Monitor for updates and any imaging results.

Matt Boyd (SP, Detroit Tigers) – Boyd is hopeful to make his next start, and I feel that may be realistic. Spasms can happen due to any number of reasons – it can be as simple as dehydration. I suspect we’ll get another update as we approach his expected next start (Monday 5-28-18). Keep in mind that this is his left oblique, which endures less strain during a lefty throwing motion than the right oblique.

Josh Reddick (OF, Houston Astros) – Reddick is battling some sort of bacterial infection near his left knee. Recent reports indicate that the pain he’s experiencing is starting to subside and that Reddick is taking medications for the ailment. It’s difficult to predict an estimated return date at this point.

Gary Sanchez (C, New York Yankees) – Gary dealt with calf cramping earlier this year and was only out a couple days. I presume this will be similar, with Gary likely returning to the lineup on Friday after Thursday’s off day.

Mitch Haniger (OF, Seattle Mariners) – I am typically very cautious regarding wrist impact injuries, but Haniger was able to swing in the cage today with no issues. Haniger is hopeful to return to the lineup on Thursday.

Dee Gordon (OF, Seattle Mariners) – The Mariner’s aren’t expecting Gordon to miss much more than the minimum. That seems optimistic, though the fracture of his toe is reportedly minor. Keep in mind that Gordon is valuable because of what he can do on the bases, and that may be limited by this fracture. Buxton fractured the big toe in his left foot and has only stolen one base in 12 games since.

Jose Valdez (RP, San Francisco Giants) – Not a ton of information available, so I’ve started Valdez with a fairly general timetable. I suspect he will undergo imaging if the inflammation persists through the end of the week.

Jake Faria (SP, Tampa Bay Rays) – Faria is dealing with a left oblique strain, though I can’t find a grade reported. A 4-6 week timetable appears reasonable.

Wilson Ramos(C, Tampa Bay Rays) – Ramos missed Wednesday’s game due to a left-hand contusion. X-rays were negative. He may DH for a few games, but hopefully, there are no lingering effects.

Jeremy Hellickson (SP, Washington Nationals) – Hellickson is hopeful to make his next start after exiting early on Tuesday with a blister.

Play Ball

Buxton only has one SB since his return from injury, because he can’t get on base. 🙂 Unlike Gordon, who can.
