Every morning we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the Second Half. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Danny Barnes’ Changeup – Barnes struck out two batters in his first MLB inning of work to earn a hold Tuesday against the Astros.  One of his two victims was Carlos Correa, who fell to this disgusting Changeup with plenty of fade. (Thanks to @pand75, @1LoganAdams1 and Redditor CrustyM for the tips!)

Jacob DeGrom’s Slider – DeGrom looks to be carrying his July success into August, tossing seven shutout innings against the Yankees on Tuesday. He struck out eight along the way, including Starlin Castro, who couldn’t resist this filthy Sider that ended up way out of reach.

Tanner Roark’s Fastball – Roark has a bit of a home run problem lately, giving up four long balls in his last three starts. As long as he keeps throwing nasty pitches like this tight Fastball to David Peralta, it shouldn’t be a problem for long.

Lance McCullers’ Curveball – A good pitch will embarrass a batter, but a great pitch lets him embarrass himself by flinging his bat out to the shortstop. Just ask Josh Donaldson, who let it fly after whiffing on this sharp Curveball from McCullers.

Yu Darvish’s Slider – Darvish pitched into the seventh inning Tuesday for the first time since returning from Tommy John surgery. His 26:2 strikeout to walk rate is healthy as always, as he demonstrated by striking out Matt Wieters with this wiffle-ball Slider. (Thanks to Redditor cjn13 for the tip!)

Joe Musgrove’s Fastball – In his MLB debut, Musgrove struck out eight batters in just over four innings of work. He’s bound to have a noteworthy career if he keeps tossing pitches like his famous one-seam Fastball that baffled Edwin Encarnacion.
