Collin McHugh’s Curveball – McHugh has found his groove in 2017 after a disappointing 2016 season and kept his success going against the Rangers Thursday afternoon. His performance can be summed up with this big Curveball that made Adrian Beltre “flinch” in the box, to put it lightly.
Zack Greinke’s Changeup – Greinke had a little fun as he found himself facing his former squad on Thursday night, cruising to a victory against the Dodgers. His stuff was as electric as it’s been all year, especially this Changeup that fooled Justin Turner in the sixth inning.
Sean Newcomb’s Curveball – The best pitch in Newcomb’s arsenal is his Curveball as it sweeps and dives a ton. Watch him freeze Rene Rivera with the pitch to lead off the bottom of the second.
CC Sabathia’s Slider – CC found himself in a tight jam out of the gate against the Red Sox, but settled down to produce six strong frames for the Yankees. He got a crucial out in the second with this beautiful Slider that bent back to the strikezone, freezing Xander Bogaerts.
Kyle Hendricks‘ Changeup – There’s little secret that Hendricks makes a living with his Changeup and yesterday’s outing against the Braves was no exception. Here was our favorite of the night as he executed the pitch beautifully off the outside corner.
Dellin Betances‘ Curveball – Sure, you’ve seen plenty of Betances Curveballs this year and they are all filthy. But have you seen one come in at 90mph?! Didn’t think so.
