Chris Archer’s Slider – Archer showed some enthusiasm after this first inning strikeout of Giancarlo Stanton. And why shouldn’t he, with a 90 mile per hour slider that drops like that.

Jake Junis’ Fastball – Junis had an excellent first start of the season, tossing seven shutout innings with six strikeouts. Check out this wicked two-seam fastball to Mikie Mahtook, that waited until the last moment and fell right off the table. Oof.

Jack Flaherty’s Slider – Flaherty, like Hicks yesterday, is another Cardinals rookie who is generating a lot of buzz this season. It’s easy to see why after he struck out nine in just 5 innings and threw curveballs like this one, buried in the corner low and away to slugger Christian Yelich.

Seth Lugo’s Fastball – Check out this ridiculous two-seamer thrown by Mets reliever Seth Lugo. Carlos Santana sees his life flash before his eyes before this pitch retreats over the plate at the last minute. Truly nasty. (Thanks to Redditors BigFreakingJim and the_fuzzy_stoner for the tip!)

Clayton Kershaw’s Curveball – It’s hard to not put Kershaw’s stuff on here every day, as his curveball in particular is one of the best in the game. Based on poor David Peralta’s reaction, he agrees.
