Every morning we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the Second Half Contest. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Blake Snell’s Curveball – The Southpaw in Tampa Bay has been on a solid run and continued producing as he faced the Yankees Tuesday night. Check out the great drop he got on his Curveball and it fell well underneath Starlin Castro’s bat. (Thanks to  for the tip!)

Clayton Kershaw’s At-Bat – We don’t normally feature full at-bat GIFs, but we felt the need to show how Kershaw went “Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Goodnight” on Nick HundleyEach of these three pitches are a different weapon from his Arsenal, getting ahead with his heater, earning another strike with his signature Curveball, then turning to his slide piece for the devastating blow. Simply beautiful.

Jon Gray’s Curveball – Gray has been on a roll over the last seven weeks, culminating in a ten strikeout performance in Arizona. Our favorite punchout was with this big Curveball that fell a ton to earn a whiff from Reymond Fuentes.

Joe Biagini’s Curveball – Speaking of massive drop on Curveballs, check out this first pitch from Biagini to Jonathan SchoopOn release, this pitch looks like it doesn’t have a chance to land for a strike, only to stun Schoop and all of us as it clipped the top of the zone. (Thanks to  for the tip!)

Sonny Gray’s Slider – Sonny was the victim of poor run support once again, as he battled through eight innings, allowing the go-ahead run come in his final frame via his second allowed solo shot of the game. However, he got out of a few tense jams during the evening, including this critical second out against Adeiny Hechavarria with this filthy Slider. Don’t worry Rays fans, Hech got his revenge in the aforementioned eighth inning…

Jose Quintana’s Curveball –  The Cubs needed a sturdy arm in their rotation and Quintana has answered the call after heading across town at the deadline. His putaway pitch is this big Curveball and it debilitated Dominic Smith easily in the sixth.
